Overview
TaxGuide.ie is a free, client-side Irish tax calculator. All calculations happen entirely in your browser — no data you enter is ever sent to or stored on our servers.
Data we collect
We do not collect any personally identifiable information. We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how visitors use the site. This includes:
- Pages visited and time spent
- General location (country/city level)
- Device type, browser, and operating system
- Referral source (how you found the site)
GA4 data is anonymised and aggregated. IP addresses are not stored. We do not use this data for advertising or share it with third parties.
Cookies
Google Analytics sets cookies to distinguish unique visitors and sessions. These are first-party cookies (stored under taxguide.ie) and are used solely for analytics. No advertising or tracking cookies are set by TaxGuide.ie.
You can opt out of GA4 tracking by enabling Do Not Track in your browser, using a browser extension such as the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, or blocking analytics scripts via an ad blocker.
Calculator inputs
Values you enter into the calculators (salary, investment amounts, etc.) are processed entirely in your browser using JavaScript. They are never transmitted to any server. When you use the "Share this calculation" feature, your inputs are encoded in the URL only — nothing is stored server-side.

Your rights (GDPR)
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the right to access, rectify, or erase any personal data held about you. As we do not store personal data, there is nothing to access or delete. For queries about GA4 data, refer to Google's Privacy Policy.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy if we add new features or services. Changes will be reflected by updating the date at the top of this page.
